Big Brothers Big Sisters is to us - Extended Family

03-Jul-2016

Jay is a wonderful addition to our family and that is what Big Brother's Big Sister's is to us, an extended family.

Big Brother's Big Sister's has been a part of our families’ life for almost 7 years, and my son has been matched for 4 of those years. Meaghan was the young lady that came to my house to visit the family and made sure she got a great picture of not just Liam’s interest, but the whole family, so his match would be perfect for him, and it is.  Jay is a wonderful addition to our family and that is what Big Brother's Big Sister's is to us, an extended family.  The care and love that each and every one of them put forward is from the heart.  3 out of the almost 7 years Liam didn't have a Big, but to us it didn't feel like he didn't. The activities that Big Brother's Big Sisters do throughout the year are amazing. The excitement Liam would get knowing that he was being picked up by one of the ladies to attend an activity was clear to see. My son who suffers from Generalized Anxiety Disorder is very well treated. From his excitement jumping up and down, the constant “are they here yet?” to screaming “they’re here, they’re here” was pure enjoyment for me to see. Knowing he is comfortable and feels safe and loved is a wonderful feeling as a single Mom. Liam’s Big has really taken on the roll as his big brother, not because he has to but because he wants to. His love for my son Liam and my Family makes me cry with wonderful warm feelings of so many emotions that can't be explained.  I have so much more to say but not enough time to show just how much Big Brother's Big Sister's has changed our life Thank you.

Sincerely The Grech Family.
