Best Decision I Made

Carter and Ben are one of our newer matches.

In light of the season I would like to reflect upon the benefits of being a Big Brother. Working two jobs and volunteering for two organizations leaves me little spare time, but one day of the week I am grateful to meet with a lovely young man named Carter. A bundle of joy who is always bursting with enthusiasm, he tends to brighten up my days every time we meet. Our relationship grows stronger every week and we have gained a social bond in which we can reflect on some instances that are "frustrating" and find some ways to solve them or just simply vent it out. We have enjoyed hockey games, bowling, tubing, fishing and many other activities including a stretch of monopoly. Joining this program is one of the best decisions I have made in recent years. Making a positive difference  in someone else's life helps to make a difference, something I didn't truly understand until I started volunteering with Big Brothers.

Consider financially supporting our programs that help our youth in Elgin County.
